The long-awaited Japanese voice pack for League of Legends by Riot games has finally arrived.
So if you’ve been waiting to enjoy your favorite MOBA in a different language, now is the time to do it. In this article, you’ll find a breakdown of who voices the game champions and how to download the Japanese language pack.
Unfortunately, it is a slightly long and complicated process, but we will lay it out in a very simple step-by-step guide to help you!
So, if you are ready to crush your opponents in battle with the voices of Japan’s finest in your ears, then let’s get started!

How to Install the Japanese Voice Pack On PC
To install the Japanese voice pack, the first thing you need to do is to download some stuff.
When installing the Japanese voice packs, you must download two files alongside a secondary program. The links can be found below and are safe for download.
Champions: http://files.team-dignitas.net/upload/JAP_champions.rar
In-Game Voice Overs: http://files.team-dignitas.net/upload/JAP_VO.zip
Wooxy: http://mapskins.com/wooxy/
Check how many hours you’ve played League of Legends
Step 1: Begin the Installation Process:
- Download the voice pack audio files
- Unzip the files once they have completed downloading
- Locate the .bnk and .wpk files (found in the “managedfiles” folder) once you have unzipped the files
- Go into Wooxy to begin the installation process.

Step 2: Use Wooxy to Install the Japanese Voice Packs:
- Once you are in Wooxy, click the “SKINS” button
- Click “IMPORT SKINS”
- When a prompt asks for files, select the files you found above in the first section
- Wooxy will create a master file and upload it to your League of Legends Client
- Enjoy your voice packs!
Now, after you have used Wooxy to install the Japanese voice packs, you may have noticed that the Champion Select Lobby has not changed.
That is because you have to do more tinkering for this part.
It is not a requirement, and you can still enjoy in-game announcements and champion voices in Japanese.

Step 3 (optional): How to install the Japanese Voice Pack for the Champion Select Screen:
- Locate your League of Legends folder, usually found here: “C:\Riot Games\League of Legends”
- Then follow this path: \RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0.x.xx\deploy\assets\sounds (where the 0.0.x.xx is the Region Code of your locale – see below)
- Once you have gotten there, find your locale folder. For example, us.US
- Make a backup of this folder in case anything goes wrong
- Copy the files from the Japanese folder into a new folder with the original folder’s name. For example, move the Japanese files into the first us.US folder.
After all that work, you should finally have your champion voices, champion selects in the lobby and in-game announcements in Japanese. If not, you may have to try changing the names of the Japanese files themselves, not just the folder name.
As mentioned above, depending on where you’re located, you need to change the files in the right folder of your region. Below you can see the region codes to make it easier to navigate and change the right folder on your hard drive.
