Dying Light is a 2015 survival horror game developed by Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

It’s a classic zombie game, meaning you’ll be fighting various zombies while trying to stay alive.

But it also has some really beautiful graphics and cool gameplay elements, such as the ability to climb almost everywhere (I’m a huge fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and I enjoyed the parkour elements in this game).

Dying Light can be played solo, but it’s also a popular co-op experience. It’s available on various platforms such as PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

So is Dying Light cross-platform?

Dying Light is cross-platform between PC/Mac/Linux, but not between PC/Mac/Linux and PS4/Xbox One/Switch. So you can’t cross-play with friends on consoles if you’re running Dying Light on Microsoft Windows, macOS, or Linux. However, DL is cross-gen through backward compatibility allowing players within the same console family to play the game together.

Gameplay

Playing Dying Light is fun because of how fluid the movement is. You’ll be doing standard stuff, such as fighting zombies, but you’ll also be able to move around and explore the area.

This game has a parkour system where you can jump around and traverse the environment smoothly. It feels fun to run away from zombies, and sometimes it makes more sense to run than to fight.

The game has a day and night cycle as well. This is important in this game because the zombies are much more aggressive and dangerous during the night.

You might be able to find a greater challenge at night if you want that, but the safe route will involve avoiding fights when the sun goes down. As you play, you’ll have a good time finding items, killing enemies, and just getting a feel for how to survive.
