For Honor is an action game that was developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The game was released in 2017, allowing players to take on the roles of fighters from various backgrounds.

You can control knights, samurai, and Vikings, depending on which faction you wish to choose. This gives you access to different fighting styles, and there are characters with unique capabilities within each faction.

So is For Honor crossplay?

Unfortunately, For Honor isn’t cross-platform between any of the supported platforms. That means you can’t cross-play with friends on Xbox or PlayStation if you’re running For Honor on Microsoft Windows and vice versa. For Honor is cross-gen through backward compatibility, allowing players within the same console platform to play the game together.

What is For Honor? – A quick overview.

  • Game Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
  • Game Publisher: Ubisoft
  • Genre: Melee fighting, multiplayer, action

The backstory in For Honor revolves around a natural catastrophe that has caused the strongest warriors in the land to have to compete against each other for resources.

Three factions are vying for control of the territory.

Players will choose between knights, samurai, and Vikings. Each faction has warriors with different skills and specialties that can help players to achieve victory.

Gameplay

Playing For Honor can be somewhat intricate. Players will be fighting other warriors with melee weapons that you would expect from factions such as samurai, Vikings, and knights.

The fighting system is about knowing when to dodge and parry your opponent so that you can open them up to be attacked. You can face computer-controlled opponents in this game, but you’ll more often be facing human-controlled warriors in the multiplayer game modes.

Multiplayer is a huge component of For Honor. You’ll join up with friends in teams of up to four in the standard Dominion game mode.

There are also two-versus-two options and one-on-one multiplayer options.

Friendly “fire” is very real in this game. Swinging your sword carelessly could cause the death of a teammate.
